The Advanced Fly fishing school is a three day, two night course examining some of the more intricate aspects of fly fishing. Participants will stay at our river lodge, located on the banks of the Watauga River. Meals are included from breakfast the first morning, to lunch on the last day. Our goal is to advance your fly fishing skills and to better prepare you for the pursuit of trout and other species of fish, on fly.

Theo and Haden Copeland, Brad Platt, and the Appalachian Angler Staff have spent over fifteen seasons perfecting our fly fishing skills and techniques on our local streams and rivers, primarily the South Holston and Watauga Tailwaters. These rivers offer some of the finest trout fishing on the East coast: It has been said by legendary anglers, and world renowned guides, that if you can fish consistently on these waters, you can fish effectively on well know spring creeks across the country and beyond. The beautiful southern Appalachians and the world class fishing our streams have to offer provide the perfect classroom for our unique fly fishing school.

Here at Appalachian Angler we believe that learning and improving your understanding of fly fishing is a life long experience. These experiences will take you to beautiful places and put you in touch with great people and friends. Fly fishing is about more than just the Fish; it is about problem solving, the cast, camaraderie, soul searching, and conservation. For Theo and his staff, fly fishing is a lifestyle. Their guide experiences have taken them to remote Alaska, Montana, Chile, Bahamas, western North Carolina, and northeastern Tennessee. We invite you to improve your skills and advance to the next level of fly fishing. Let us inspire you to come fish our favorite waters, learn about our bugs, improve your fly fishing ability, and listen to the wisdom of this select group of guides, instructors, and fly tiers.

We look forward to seeing you on the water, with tight lines and calm winds.
Sincerely, Appalachian Angler Staff
