Appalachian Angler is still proud to offer world-class wilderness float trips on the Kanektok River in Alaska. The Appalachian Angler will run a wilderness float fishing operation July-September. This will make the eleventh season of Appalachian Angler’s involvement in Alaska. Theo’s trips are six-person float trips downAlaska Pic the Kanektok or "Chosen" River in Southwest Alaska. Theo and his guides are expecting another exhilarating season. This area has become one of the world’s premier fly fishing destinations. A special permit is required to float the river, so crowds are not an issue.

The Kanektok has all five species of Pacific salmon, plus resident Rainbow trout, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, and Grayling. This is truly a world-class fishery. The float trip covers roughly 100 miles of river, starting in the mountains, meandering through the tundra, and flowing into Kuskokwim Bay. It is beautiful country, still untouched by civilization, making this trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Another BeautyThe safari-style camp offers comfortable accommodations. Two guests sleep in a six-person tent with cots and sleeping pads. There is a cook tent, a dining tent, three sleep tents, an outhouse-style restroom tent, and every other night, a hot shower. Our camp offers most of the comforts of home while still providing a true wilderness adventure. The number and quality of the fish caught is amazing! Due to the popularity of this trip, please book well in advance.
