Report - Watauga
Trophy Section
Low water levels have provided great sight
fishing opportunities. Tiny midges and soft hackles have
produced best when dead drifted through the flats and
shallow bumpy riffles. Good numbers of trout are being
caught on every float trip. Craneflies, sulfurs, and midges
are the dominant hatches, and should continue through the
end of the month. The terrestrial bite is getting better as
the summer progresses. Nice browns are being caught close to
banks on various ant patterns. A terrestrial dropped with a
tiny beadhead has been a popular choice with our guides.
